Join us on Remembrance Day, when historian and author Lynette Silver, dubbed ‘The History Detective’, will talk about her research and books on the Sandakan marches, the establishment of memorials and her and her husband’s continuing charity work.
Lynette Silver’s book on Sandakan is regarded as the definitive history, confirming the fate of almost 2500 Allied POWs who died in Borneo in WWII. Lynette has established memorials in Singapore, Malaya and Borneo to honour Australia’s war dead and has been recognised for her historical research by the Australian and Sabah governments.
Tamworth Library – Refreshments from 5.30pm, talk commences at 6pm. Please book for this FREE event.
