Yaama Guduu, Greetings Murray Cod was a powerful weekend celebration of First Nations music, art, and community in the heart of Tamworth. A free community event celebrating the end of the Murray Cod breeding season and the closing weekend of the exhibition Bush Lines at the Tamworth Regional Gallery.
The closing weekend transformed Tamworth into a vibrant hub of cultural exchange — amplifying First Nations voices and fostering creative connection across generations and art forms.
With a structure created by Sue Ryan, an Australian artist and environmental activist who transforms discarded ghost nets into sculptural works, leading community-based workshops across First Nations and islander communities, join us in the Gallery space as we endeavour to complete our amazing textile sculpture – the giant Murray cod!
There are two upcoming workshops:
Sunday, 11 January, 11am-1pm
Sunday, 18 January, 11am-1pm
All welcome. Children must be supervised by an adult.
