“Monte Carlo modelling of particle interactions”
Monte Carlo modelling is used, eg. at CERN to model particle collisions. It is used in medical physics to statistically model dose to tissue and uses in radiology & health.
7.45 pm – Tours & Telescope Viewing: Moon in last quarter
We’ll have various optical viewing Telescopes and the 34 in Hewitt Camera looking at various Cosmic objects, Galaxies, Nebula, Clusters, Comets etc. Milky Way with lots of Globular Clusters.
Our Minerals/Fossils Group; will also be operating with microscope projections, highlighting minerals and fossils from the local region and finds from recent club excursions.
(PS. Bring a jumper as clear nights can be pretty cool……)
Bring Your Own Gear Too; Feel free to bring your own camera, binoculars or telescope for some
tips and viewing. Come along and make it a great monthly event night….!!!
