The National Volvo Rally is coming to Tamworth at Easter and the model made famous from the 60’s TV show ‘The Saint’ will be here.
Club organizing President Grant Smith said there will be many top cars on show including the legendary and sporty Volvo P1800 marque which was made famous by appearing in the hit TV series of the 60s ‘The Saint’, starring Roger Moore.
The inaugural National Volvo Rally was held in Tamworth in 1989.
Rallies are held every two years throughout Australia and return to Tamworth in 2026. A number of current members and cars participated in the first rally and are returning this year.
The event will host over 70 Volvo cars in immaculate condition from the 1950’s to current models. Registered vehicles will be driven from all the states of Australia and will be on display at the Council Carpark on White Street at the roundabout of White Street and Kable Avenue.
The display will be on Sunday 5th April from 10am to 1pm and everyone is invited to come along.
The National Volvo Rally would like to thank The Tamworth Regional Council, Wests League Club and Woodleys Motors for financially supporting our Rally.
