Time and Terrain: The Works of John Salvana celebrates the life and legacy of Tamworth Regional Gallery’s founder. This collection of Salvana’s oils and sketches pays homage to the artist’s understanding of the Australian light and landscape and acknowledges his significant contribution to the artistic terrain of Tamworth and beyond.
Complementing Bush Lines: An Art Gallery of New South Wales and Tamworth Regional Gallery partnership project, Time and Terrain explores John Salvana’s en plein air practice, his love of the unique and diverse beauty of the Australian landscape and his commitment to opening access to the arts for rural and regional audiences.
Some artworks in the Salvana collection require specialised care and conservation so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. We invite members of the public to make donations toward the preservation of these significant artworks. Contributions large or small would be greatly appreciated.
