SUMMARY:Tamworth Regional Gallery - Unearthed Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Across the Tamworth Regional Museums collections\, we work to unearth lesser-known histories and to bring to light stories that empower younger generations to be custodians of our regional culture and traditions. These 12 unique stories\, brought together from across our collections\, offer insights into how the history of our region and events of the past have helped to shape the place we know today. \nJoin us as we look through 12 collections and see what some of their unearthed objects can tell us about our region’s history. \nJourney with us as we explore: \n\nhow country music events were promoted in the early days of the industry\nthe only camera of its kind that is still in operation\nthe wide impact of minerals\nhow one book can tell the story of a business empire\nwhat clothing alternatives were the only option for many people during the Great Depression of the 1930s\nthe pleasures of diving deep into family history\nhow one implement can have many uses\nwhat a snapshot in time can look like\nwhether an artwork is really by the artist who is credited with its creation\nhow the electric power industry supported beauty standards and social expectations\nhow locating a missing link can make all the difference to a collection.\n\nThis exhibition would not have been possible without the support of the various museums and community groups in our region\, including: \n\nAustralian Country Music Hall of Fame\nChris Bowman Fossils and Minerals Collection\nGil Bennet Rocks\, Gems and Mineral Collection\nManilla Heritage Museum\nMoonbi Museum\nTamworth and District Family History Group\nTamworth Regional Film and Sound Archive\nTamworth Historical Society\nTamworth Hospital Nursing and Medical Museum\nTamworth Powerstation Museum\nTamworth Regional Astronomy and Science Centre\nTamworth Regional Gallery.\n\n

SUMMARY:Legally Blonde The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Legally Blonde\n\nMusic and Lyrics by LAURENCE O’KEEFE and NELL BENJAMIN \nBook by HEATHER HACH \nBased on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture \nGET READY TO BEND AND SNAP!…’OMIGOD!’ \nStep into the world of pink\, positivity\, and power with Legally Blonde: The Musical! This dazzling show\, based on the beloved 2001 film\, tells the story of Elle Woods—a fashionable\, fun-loving sorority queen whose life takes an unexpected turn when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious.” Determined to prove him wrong\, Elle enrolls at Harvard Law School\, setting off on a journey that transforms her life and those around her. \nWhat starts as a quest to win back her love\, soon becomes a journey of self-discovery. Elle learns that staying true to herself is the key to overcoming challenges\, shattering stereotypes\, and achieving her dreams. With catchy songs like Omigod You Guys\, What You Want\, and Legally Blonde\, the musical brings Elle’s infectious spirit and determination to life\, blending pop\, rock\, and Broadway styles into an electrifying score. \nLegally Blonde is not just a feast for the eyes and ears—it’s a story with heart. It celebrates themes of self-confidence\, resilience\, and the power of inner strength. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to Elle’s world\, this ‘Made in Tamworth’ production by Tamworth Musical Society will leave you laughing\, singing\, and embracing a very powerful message. \nDIRECTOR\nJenny Sullivan\nMUSICAL DIRECTOR\nNoelene Bosworth\nCHOREOGRAPHER\nAnika Chillingworth\nASSISTANT DIRECTOR\nAnn Walsh \nPresented by Tamworth Musical Society\nAs part of Season 2025 presented by Woodleys Motors
