SUMMARY:Moon and Saturn Conjunction - Public Viewing Night
DESCRIPTION:The Tamworth Regional Astronomy Club Inc (TRAC) will be conducting a public viewing night on the evening of Tuesday\, 17th September\, 2024 from 6.00 pm at the Astronomy and Science Centre (A&SC)\, Victoria Park\, Top End of Piper Street\, Tamworth\, for the “Moon and Saturn Close Conjunction”.  Join with members of TRAC to witness this amazing celestial event with telescope viewing and live projections of the Moon & Saturn on the Club’s big screens. \nThe conjunction will be visible from dusk for an hour or so.  Members will have several telescopes available for viewing along with the very large (34in) Hewitt Camera/telescope.  We will be conducting tours of the Centre\, running several talks in the auditorium and TRAC members will be available to answer questions. DESCRIPTION:Interschool Queensland with the support of Equestrian Queensland is pleased to advise that it has been appointed as the event organiser for the 2024 Australian Interschool Championships. \nAfter much consideration\, Interschool Queensland and Equestrian Queensland have decided to deliver the 2024 Australian Interschool Championships from the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) in Tamworth\, NSW. \nCompetitors\, aged 5-18 years old\, are required to qualify through from the State Interschool Championships to the Australian Interschool Championships. \nThe event is continuing to grow every year and is a major focus for young equestrians. It is the largest equestrian grassroots program delivered nationally in Australia. \nThe events covered at Interschool Nationals are Dressage\, Showjumping\, Eventing and Showhorse. \nThe 2024 Australian Interschool Championships will be held from 19 to 23 September 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Annual Barraba Races will be held this Saturday 21st September 2024 at the Barraba Racecourse. \nGates open at 11.00am. \nThere will be a six-race programme with the first race commencing at approximately 1.30pm. \nStrong fields are assured with sixty-five nominations received\, with a full field of ten starters for the Barraba and District Cattle Breeders’ Cup. \nAdmission prices are $10.00 per adult. Pensioners $5.00 and children under 18 years free. \nThere will be bookmakers on course betting on local races as well as Sydney races & Interstate races. \nBarraba Lions Club will provide a BBQ on race day\, Polkadot coffee will be on course\, and a bar will operate during the races. \nFashions in the Field will be judged during the day\, best dressed Lady\, Man\, Colt\, Filly & Best Hat/Fascinator on course with the winners in each category to be announced in the saddling enclosure between the 4th & 5th race. \nA courtesy bus service will be running on race morning leaving from the Upper Horton Sports Club at 11.00am\, then Cobbadah at 11.20am. A bus will also leave from “Rocky Glen” (cnr McIntyre Rd & Gulf Creek Rd) and travel via the McIntyre Road to Barraba picking up along the way if needed.
