In NSW, every child is entitled to be enrolled at the government school that is designated for the intake area (zone) within which the child's home is situated and that the child is eligible to attend.

In NSW, SSPs are schools that support eligible students with diagnosed intellectual or physical disability, autism, mental health considerations, sensory processing disorder or behaviour disorders. SSPs provide intensive levels of support in a specialised setting, with smaller class sizes and a range of support services.
