With the airport only closed thirteen times in the last ten years, Tamworth is recognised as having some of the best aviation conditions in the world. In fact it is rated in the top half a percent of airports in the world for conditions. When you combine this with an excellent runway capable of landing aircraft up to a B737 in all weather conditions, and an $11 million upgrade to our airport facilities in 1993, Tamworth has a lot to offer the aviation industry.

It is not just the airport itself though, we also have more than 200 hectares of land surrounding the airport available to be developed and an aviation business cluster surrounding the airport.

Air Transport
Qantas Link, part of the Qantas Group, operate several turbo prop services to and from Sydney daily. Flying time is approximately 50 minutes. Brindabella Airlines have daily services to Brisbane.
