Calendar of Events

Tamworth is the home of the famous and internationally recognised country music festival. Every January artists and fans flock to the city for two weeks of music, dancing and fun times.

Aside from the country music festival, the Tamworth region has so much more to offer. The Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre (TREC) is the largest entertainment centre in regional Australia. TREC has hosted some of the biggest names in international and Australian entertainment including Bob Dylan, Cold Chisel, The Seekers, Leo Sayer, Powerderfinger and Silverchair. As well as concerts, the venue hosts the annual red carpet Golden Guitar Awards each January and an array of events from car launches to conferences, trade shows and school spectaculars.

It isn't just Tamworth where the action can be found. Some of the best events are held in our regional towns and villages. Manilla's international reputation for some of the best gliding conditions in the world was confirmed when the town was awarded the 2007 paragliding championships. Nundle holds the annual Chinese Festival while Barraba has the BarrArbor festival each November.
