Retail

The Tamworth region has a vibrant and growing retail sector. Tamworth is home to some of Australia’s largest retail outlets including Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Target, Strathfield, The Warehouse, Spotlight, Fantastic Furniture, Sleep City, Forty Winks, Carpet Choice, Carpet Court, Bunnings, Dick Smith Electronics, and Barbecues Galore.

Tamworth has three main shopping centres. Tamworth City Plaza has, as its main tenants, Coles and K-Mart. Shopping World has Woolworths and Big W, Centrepoint has Franklins and all have a number of specialty shops. In addition there are several smaller suburban shopping centres in the Tamworth region with Coles and IGA supermarkets as well as specialty food stores.

Of course, what makes a great retail experience is the many unique and interesting local boutiques, cafes, and restaurants that are a feature of our region. TRDC recently commissioned a series of focus groups into the thoughts of new residents. New residents told us one of the great things about Tamworth is the beauty of our tree lined main street and the specialty stores and cafes available.

The smaller towns of the Tamworth region, all within an easy drive of Tamworth city, offer a range of interesting and unique arts, crafts, produce and fairs.
